Steve teams up with Aruna for "Reason to Believe"

Aruna is back in full force with her next solo single, “Reason To Believe.” The LA-based artist will make her Enhanced Music debut on August 19 and already “Reason To Believe” is shaping up to be one of summer’s most memorable vocal smashes.

“I wanted to step outside of the box and create new lyrical patterns and melodies that I hadn’t employed before,” says Aruna. “That’s why I co-wrote this track with someone new to EDM.”

She partnered with fellow LA musician David Bowick and says that working with someone outside of the tight-knit dance music scene brought a fresh perspective to her songwriting. The lyrics speak of spiraling downwards after loss and heartbreak but Aruna’s vocals convey innocence and hope. Producer and composer Steve Kaetzel brought a score of sparkling piano melodies, wobbling, glitchy bass and soothing trance chimes wrapped with intricate vocal editing to make the track fit for at-home, easy listening or havoc-wreaking on the dance floor. One of EDM’s leading ladies, Aruna has recorded for a host of internationally recognized producers, including Cosmic Gate, ATB, Myon & Shane54, Filo & Peri, Ronski Speed and Roger Shah.

Although “Reason To Believe” will get an individual release on August 19, it’s also one of the 25 exclusive tracks on the upcoming Digitally Enhanced Volume 6 compilation mixed by Enhanced Music label boss, Will Holland. Out August 6, Digitally Enhanced is a 2-mix plethora of trance and progressive from the likes of Tritonal, Estiva, Juventa, Daniel Kandi, 7 Skies and more. Limited edition signed CD pre-order is available now from www.enhancedmusic.com.

"I Loved You" EP released on Songbird

Songbird 340-0
Steve Kaetzel featuring Emma Lock - I Loved You
1. Original Mix
2. Radio Edit

Black Hole Recordings recently released the eleventh installment of one of the best selling trance compilations in history, “In Search of Sunrise," mixed by Richard Durand and Hungarian-duo Myon & Shane 54. “Vol. 11: Las Vegas” is a 3 disc compilation featuring one of the most seductive vocal masterpieces of the year by US up & comer, Steve Kaetzel, and trance singing-sensation, Emma Lock.

Kaetzel’s vocal tracks, such as 2010’s “So Alone feat. Briana Holan,” have given him attention for being part of the minority of “DJs” that can produce more than a club-thumping beat. Kaetzel's beautiful melodies (which are due to his role as a classically trained composer) combined with his pristine productions make his tracks perfect for a jog in the park or front-and-center on the dance floor. Lock has become a staple name within the trance scene over recent years, after securing a Billboard hit with George Acosta (“Never Fear” [Black Hole Recordings]), which peaked at #13 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart last year. She’s spawned several other chart-topping singles with Shogun, Beat Service, and most recently with Steve Kaetzel & Johnny Monsoon’s “Winter," which steamed up the Beatport Trance Chart to #15 in February.

Kaetzel and Lock have once again set the standard for vocal trance with "I Loved You", the follow up single to "Winter." This collaboration showcases Kaetzel's ability to give life to a vocal piece, while highlighting the angelic tone of Lock’s voice as she sings about an infectious yet destructive love that won’t evade her thoughts. The low-swinging bass line gives this track a seductive groove, yet the intensity of the melodic breakdown is what will draw fans to the middle of the dance floor during any DJ set. To hear it, is to love it.

In celebration of this release, Black Hole Recordings is giving away physical CD copies of ISOS 11, a perennial collector's item for every major trance fan. Simply forward your Beatport receipt of "I Loved You" to carlos@one3twoPR.com by this Friday at 5 PM EST for your chance to win. Ten winners will be announced next Monday at 12 noon EST.

Support from Andy Moor, Paul Oakenfold, Moonbeam, Lange, and many more!

"I Loved You" featured on ISOS 11

In Search Of Sunrise 11: Las Vegas - Mixed By Richard Durand And Myon & Shane 54

Globetrotting DJ extraordinaire and Master of the Sunrise ceremony, Richard Durand is back to present his fourth installment of the compilation line MIXMAG called “the greatest trance series of them all”. Having previously tracked daybreaks in South Africa and India, with his 2012 Australian edition he shook up the ‘Sunrise’ system, sharing its mix duties for the first time. In 2013 he’s decided to raise the stakes again. For its eleventh excursion the series sharpens the search-field, moving from country to city, as Richard dusk-till-dawns Las Vegas. He’s recruited Hungary’s finest Myon & Shane 54 to the expedition - collectively they’re about to take old Sin City by storm.

Without missing a beat Richard hits the Vegas’ turntables, dealing ‘See Inside’s pacific-harmonics, courtesy of wunderkind Niko Pavlidis. Balancing a lower tempo with cooler atmospherics, the glacial glow of Silence Groove’s ‘Hanging In The Air’ writes breakbeat code into the mix. The series’ knack of finding the hottest new trance producers’ music before the season starts continues... Nu-blood studio hounds like AWD, Joshi, The Flyers and Craving stack ISOS’ pack, delivering a run of Vegas-raiding moments. ISOS: 11 counterweights its newcomer talent by hooking in plenty of high roller producers too. Ferry Corsten & Giuseppe Ottaviani, BT, Andain and (naturally) Richard himself hit a track hot streak of tracks including ‘Magenta’, ‘You Once Told Me’ and ‘Running On Empty’.

“With electronic music in States having changed so momentously over the last couple of years, there really was only one choice when it came to the country for 2013’s ‘Search’. I’ve selected Las Vegas to be the focus point, as it’s a place I’ve seen the sun come up many times over. This album though is as much about the bigger East-to-West coast picture. It’s a celebration of everything that’s great musically about L.V. and the USA at large.” – Richard Durand

In its early stages Mix 2 of ‘Las Vegas’ plays its progressive aces. The likes of Alex O’Rion, Johan Malmgren and Durand’s own studio-ware brings epic melodic and increasingly atmospheric sounds to the table. Further in, music from stateside producers like George Acosta, Steve Kaetzel and others unlock yet more sonic space to the mix. House wins, but for a moment with Moonbeam’s ‘Madness’ and Boom Jinx, Maor Levi & Ashley Tomberline’s ‘When You Loved Me’, tossing a moodier pair of wildcards in. Around the midpoint Richard pulls yet another ace from his sleeve with ‘In Search of Sunrise 11’s seismically registering anthem. Recorded alongside Russia pair Eximinds, ‘Las Vegas’ opens Mix 2’s thrusters wide, setting it on course for its edge-of-the-seat climax. As Jace Williams ‘Hope & Pray’ and Falcon’s ‘Haybusa’ let the tech-trance juice ride, Columbia’s KhoMha releases the pitch-sirens on Cosmic Gate’s ‘Storm Chaser’, concluding the mix in ground shaking fashion.

With Richard’s own Vegas takedown complete, the Dutchman brings Myon & Shane 54 to the table. They begin their first ‘Search’ with the rolling drums, guitar-flecked riffs and the mellifluous vocals of their latest showstoppers ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Light’. Bringing the big ISOS guns to bear is the free-fall lament of Above & Beyond’s ‘Alchemy’ and Audien’s breakout hit ‘Wayfarer’, which ups the mix’s ante again.

Of their first ISOS trip Myon & Shane 54 said: “We had quite big shoes to fill but making this mix was a true labour of love. Musically there was one goal we had in mind: continuing the classic series in terms of style, mood and depth, regardless of what musical trends or genres might dictate to a regular mix CD.”

Weaving in harmonic, euphoric, progressive and even housey elements into ‘Sunrise’s game, neophyte producers like Mike Danis, LTN and The Madison join the game. With the stakes at sky-high, Myon & Shane go all-in, revealing a purpose-built new/classic mash-up of Tiësto legendary ‘Just Be’ and Juventa’s Vegas riffing ‘The Strip’.

"I Need You" EP released on In Trance We Trust

In Trance We Trust 585-0
Steve Kaetzel - I Need You EP
1. I Need You
2. Coast Of Alaska

Preceded by his single "Winter" and "Darling", a collaboration with Brianna Holan, Steve Kaetzel now returns with his solo project, the "I Need You EP".

Steve Kaetzel's name as a composer and sound designer for video games and short films was already firmly established when he had his first encounter with electronic dance music. In Seattle he pursued his new-found love, after which Black Hole Recordings signed Steve to the Songbird imprint, where he released an EP with the titles "Black Opal" and "Something About This". His second EP, a collaboration with vocalist Brianna Holan entitled "So Alone," received airplay on Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Day, Roger Shah's Magic Island, and Anjunabeats Worldwide. Tiësto and Sander van Doorn soon supported his remixes for such artists as Moonbeam and Zoo Brazil and Steve's subsequent releases "Floe" and "Aurora", saw a brand new 2013 follow up with the single "Winter". Steve recently collaborated with vocalist Brianna Holan on "Darling".

For this new EP, Steve produced the tracks "I Need You" and "Coast Of Alaska"; two diamonds that move from the melodic, story telling trance plains to the deeper symphonic breaks. "Coast Of Alaska" is strongly reminiscent of the ISOS spirit, while "I Need You" explores Steve's arranging skills with a moving classical break that could have been composed by the great Tomaso Albinoni himself.

Steve Kaetzel presents his brand new single "Darling" on the Songbird imprint, featuring the vocals of Brianna Holan.

Steve Kaetzel began his career as a composer and sound designer for video games and short films. After his first taste of electronic dance music he went westward to Seattle to pursue this new-found love. It was Black Hole Recordings who signed Steve to the Songbird imprint, where he released an EP with the titles "Black Opal" and "Something About This". His second EP, a collaboration with vocalist Brianna Holan entitled "So Alone," received airplay on Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Day, Roger Shah's Magic Island, and Anjunabeats Worldwide. Steve's previous releases "Floe" and "Aurora" now, saw a brand new 2013 follow up with the single "Winter". Now teaming up again with the lovely Brianna Holan, Steve drops the sparkling "Darling".

“Darling” is once again a trademark Steve Kaetzel production, bringing forth the most attractive properties of vocal trance. An atmospheric arrangement that blends with Brianna Holan’s effected vocals works towards an airy break with Balearic elements, ready for a sunstroke afternoon pool party.

Steve Kaetzel is rapidly rising through the ranks in the electronic dance music community. After studying piano, composition, and orchestration at the University of Kentucky, Steve began his career as a composer and sound designer for video games and short films. It wasn't until he received his first taste of dance music in the local club and rave scene that his obsession with electronic music production and DJing began to take shape. Moving westward to Seattle to pursue this new-found love, it was Black Hole Recordings who signed Steve to the Songbird imprint, where he released an EP with the titles "Black Opal" and "Something About This". His second EP, a collaboration with vocalist Brianna Holan entitled "So Alone," received instantaneous worldwide support with airplay on Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Day, Roger Shah's Magic Island, and Anjunabeats Worldwide.
