Steve Kaetzel presents Floe EP

Songbird 267-0
Steve Kaetzel - Floe
1. Floe // 2.Floe (Chris Domingo Remix) // 3.Aurora

Steve Kaetzel's new single "Floe" found its way to our Songbird label and features the extra track "Aurora".

Many will agree that Steve's new release could only have been released on our Songbird imprint. The label that houses the famous In Search of Sunrise series, the label that recently released Andy Duguid's "Miracle Moments" and now the new single "Floe". There is in fact only one thing to say here: listen to it and be mesmerized. Steve outdid himself with this lovely arrangement that oozes warmth, love and passion and that some party people on the floor might use to dance close together while the still urging beats keep banging on. The break is subtle and smooth and returns to the theme of the track even stronger.

"Aurora" is almost a 'part two' of "Floe" and plays just as strong as the title cut. For the DJs that care for an even deeper trance set with subtle, arpeggiated chord lines, the Chris Domingo Remix is tailor made. Let the 'flow' of "Floe" add that little bit of extra to your live performance!

So Alone (Acosta Edit) released as part of "From Miami To Amsterdam"

Miami based DJ/Producer George Acosta has been active in the industry for more than 20 years. As the founder of his own Waxhead Records label, he remixed countless artists from the B52s to Ultra Nate to Jon Secada and released seminal mix compilations like "Miami Beach Bash" and "Trance Nation America". In 2007 he became America's Best DJ, received a Grammy nomination for a remix he did for Fabulous and became member of the 'Remix and Producer's Grammy Committee'. Early 2010, George Acosta signed with Black Hole Recordings and now presents his first mix compilation for the label, entitled "From Miami To Amsterdam".

The year 2010 so far has been a very fruitful year for George. Over the period of a few months he released the highly successful singles "Beautiful", "Love Rain Down On Me", "True Love" and "Tearing Me Apart"; all featuring the stunning vocals of Fisher. His productions appeared on several mix compilations, including "In Search of Sunrise 8, South Africa" by Richard Durand, "Back 2 Back 4" by Cosmic Gate and John O'Callaghan's "Trance World, Vol.4". His prolific production skills are internationally known and the remix assignments for such big names as BT, Cosmic Gate, Zoo Brazil, Daniel Wanrooy and many, many others still pour in on a daily basis.

Despite his super busy schedule, George took the time to carefully assemble his two sets and secured the hottest new tracks to create an energetic deep trance session. In the first mix, George tells his story as a DJ and delivers a mesmerizing set that shows exactly what it means when he works the decks with, amongst others, tracks from System F, Carlo Calabro and Zoo Brazil. In the second set George showcases his own productions and remixes, everything masterfully blended with material from Cosmic Gate, BT, First State and more. "From Miami To Amsterdam" is the ultimate proof that George Acosta is still on top of the game, both as a DJ and producer, always dedicated to entertain his audience.

Steve Kaetzel's "Aurora" featured on Moonbeam's "Space Odyssey: Venus"

Ever since they stormed DJ Mag's Top100 poll last year, brothers Pavel and Vitaly Khavleev a.k.a. Moonbeam can count themselves amongst the biggest music exponents of Russian dance music. The release of their reputation defining first album "Around The World" harvested the hit singles "Song For A Girl", "Breathless" and "Look Around". The two now continue to widen their sonic horizon for their debut mix compilation "Space Odyssey" on Black Hole Recordings with a fabric of different styles.

Initially it was superstar DJ and producer Tiësto who reserved Moonbeam's 2007 single "See The Difference Inside" for his acclaimed "In Search Of Sunrise 6, Ibiza". He later on did the same with Moonbeam's remix of Rachael Star's "To Forever" for the 7th, Asia themed volume of the series. Other artists like Cosmic Gate, Mr Sam, Rank1 and Armin van Buuren also secured Moonbeam singles for their compilations. With these early achievements in mind it was only a logical result that the two Russians got signed to Black Hole Recordings for the release of their first album and now, naturally, their debut mix compilation entitled "Space Odyssey". The brothers obviously accepted the assignment enthusiastically.

Moonbeam's "Space Odyssey" makes it clear that the boys want to break the boundaries between techno, trance and electronica. From their own hit singles they move to solid, atmospheric techno and smoky, charged trance sounds. And considering the entire mix, the duo clearly cares about being innovative.

With titles like "Doors Opened Inside" by Avis Fox, "Guru" by Rosie Romero", "Morning Light" by Nick Chagall, "Light Beam" by Sound Quelle, "I Believe In Love" by Lion Love & Kochnev and a pumping Robbie Rivera remix of Deadmau5's "Clockwork", the true aficionados know what to expect: tightly programmed techno, deep trance melodies, ripping synths and outrageous vocals. And besides Memento's brilliant remake of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence" we of course also find tracks and remixes by the Moonbeam guys themselves. Many will be nicely surprised to check out the Moonbeam remix of Tiësto's "Love Comes Again".

"Space Odyssey" tells the story of urging rhythms, modulated bass lines and Moonbeam's affection for melody and somewhat eerie vocals; exactly as in their outstanding live performances.

Chris Domingo's "Analogous" out now with remixes by Steve Kaetzel and Paul Medina

Chris Domingo's previous releases "Smoke Hole" and "Organica" now find their follow up in his brand new single, entitled "Analogous".

"Analogous" is one of those gorgeous, undercooled and super danceable progressive cuts on the trance tip. The subtle drum programming and smooth synths play a repetitive theme, that slowly but surely grows and grows into a multi-layered production with a sweeping break. Many of today's progressive jocks will be able to place this one strategically in their tracklist.

Steve Kaetzel's remix stays close to the original, but adds a typical trance sound to it, which makes it perfect for a deep live set. Paul Medina added a completely new arrangement to "Analogous" and his version gives it a real Mediterranean sound that will live up any beach party!

Steve Kaetzel presents "So Alone feat. Brianna Holan"

Steve Kaetzel brings his brand new single release entitled "So Alone" on our Songbird imprint. Brianna Holan takes care of the vocals.

Steve Kaetzel, who already enjoys a good career as a music composer and sound designer for film and video games released his first EP a while ago and still delivers great new material. "So Alone" is a lovely, smooth vocal trancer that will serve perfectly as an attractive track for packed and lazy sunsets on the beach. Brianna Holan's hypnotic voice will only add to the atmosphere. Lots of synth and piano make the picture complete.

The DJs that are more into non vocal sets will certainly enjoy the instrumental of the original, so make sure to get this one before you take off for your next live performance!

Ricky Ryan and Steve Kaetzel team up to remix "Wasted Feeling"

Sick Watona is pleased to bring you a repackaging of one of the standout singles by Abakus, 'Wasted Feeling'. This release contains the original and also two stellar remixes by Ricky Ryan & Steve Kaetzel, and Kosmas Epsilon.

Starting out is a chilled remix by crowd favorite, Kosmas Epsilon. It combines many elements of the original, including the vox. It will definitely be one to pick up for those sunrise sets or to warm up the floor early in the night.

Ricky Ryan joins Steve Kaetzel. This remix is a stark contrast, and brings Ricky's signature vibe to the track. Hipnotic bassey tones and synth stabs take us along as the track progresses deeper and deeper before dropping in the vocals. Definitely one for the floor!

Rounding out the EP is the original mix. It's a progressive builder, sporting a rolling bassline and nice overlying synths. The vox on the original fit perfectly into the track, bringing all the elements together.

All in all, this is another great release on Sick Watona. Three different takes on one of the year's most definitive tunes. Definitely worth the pick up!

Steve Kaetzel presents "Black Opal EP"

Steve Kaetzel, who already enjoys a good career as a music composer and sound designer for film and video games, presents his debut on our Songbird imprint with this brilliant two track EP. The titles, "Black Opal" and "Something About This", represent Steve's versatility as a producer of electronic dance music.

The first track, "Black Opal," is a fizzing and incredibly melodic trancer with a nod and a wink to the good classics from back in the days, offering a beautifully solemn break. Excellent for vast daytime sets and party people in beach outfits. For the second cut, Steve decided to come up with a much tougher setup for "Something About This." Here we are definitely dealing what a harder tech trance slammer for the DJs who'd like to kick ass during their late night performances. Prepare yourself for a relentless thumping theme and a great, ripping break.

Make sure to get this Steve Kaetzel EP and prepare up your track list!

"Certainly, an artist with such a strong background is impossible not to come with something really exceptional. Steve Kaetzel EP on Songbird contains two very different tracks serving totally different purposes. Black Opal is mysterious and unique the kind of the track that melts in one hybrid the best from the trance and progressive house genres and delivering an outstanding track that can stand beautifully in trance and prog sets and certainly will be the outstanding track of the night. Just listen carefully the amazing symphonic break and the various effects coming and going and your mind will travel miles away instantly. On the other hand, something about this rocks the boat as it is harder and ready for peak time playing on any tech trance set. Vocal samples, grungy dirty basslines and distorted sounds to drive berserk the clubgoers. Steve opens our hunger for more releases and we would love to see him with even more tracks. He Gots the talent!" -- Dimitri Kechagias, 1Mix Radio
